Terp Visit Days

What are Terp Visit Days, you ask? Terp Visit Days are optional, one-day in-person experiences on campus throughout the entire Summer. The Office of Student Orientation and Transition will be offering opportunities to see the College Park campus, take a tour, view a dining hall, and get to know your fellow new Terps in small groups!

You can choose a date, see a schedule, get more information and sign up at the Office of Student Orientation and Transition website. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and programs will be small to keep numbers within local, state, and national COVID-19 guidelines: so sign up today!

Please Note: These Terp Visit Days are separate from your traditional Orientation experience which will be held online.

Questions? Email us at askorientation@umd.edu or call us at 301-314-8217. Go Terps!

Individual Meetings

Honors College admission staff members are available to meet with prospective students and families via individual zoom appointments or by appointment in-person, although virtual appointments would be preferred. Students can contact honorsadmissions@umd.edu to set up their individual appointment.

Discover Life as a Fearless Terp

Open houses are a great opportunity for prospective Honors College students to explore what it is like to be a Terp! Prospective students and their families are invited to campus to speak with faculty members, meet current students, take a campus tour, and learn more about the admissions process.

Admitted students and their families are invited to attend an Admitted Student Open House. Admitted Student Open House events will take place in March and April, and registration is required.

Please check with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions periodically for updates on campus tour availability and other opportunities to explore what it’s like to be a Terp!

Host-A-Day/Virtual Hangouts

The Honors Ambassadors Virtual Hangout program allows prospective students to connect one-on-one with a current Honors College student. This program is open to all prospective students during the fall semester and open only to admitted students invited into the Honors College during the spring semester.

The Virtual Hangout form for Fall 2022 can be found here.

Please note: The Host-A-Day program is for students only. In addition, this program is not a campus tour or an overnight stay program.

If you have any questions, please contact our admissions team at honorsadmissions@umd.edu.
